New Plushies!

Christmas is almost over and it has been super busy and fun for me!  While making presents this year I tried out a new plushie pattern that I really love!  Ended up making three plushies as presents and was so happy with how they turned out that once the January rush of conventions is over I might try to take some commissions!  I'll have to figure out prices but for now the range seems like it will start between $65 and $80.  Once I have it all figured out I'll make sure to update, but for now here are the plushies I made~

First is Sollux Captor from Homestuck that was made for a Secret Santa exchange on the My Little Pony subreddit (of all places!)  It was a lot of fun figuring out this whole pattern and how to make everything and I was quite pleased with how he turned out!

Next was Chuck from Motorcity made for my friend Clarissa (who's the biggest Motorcity fan I know!)  He was pretty simple to make because I figured out most everything making Sollux, though making his shirt was a bit of a challenge due to slant of the seams on the sleeves~

And finally here's a humanized Rainbow Dash I made for my partner in crime Amanda!  She was super hard and helped me discover I'm not too good and making up outfits!  I still think she turned out fabulous as I went for a sporty basketball theme with her (I really just want to make those short shorts, everything else I just made up on the spot XD)

I hope you all like these and I look forward to hopefully taking some commissions in the future, but for now I need to get back to work for all these conventions in January!  I hope to see you all then and have a fantastic  New Year!

For the sake of updating Imma post something unrelated to Tofus and mustaches!  As some of you may already know I'm a pretty avid Hatsune Miku fan and my new HSP Miku scale figure just came in the mail today!  I'm obviously super excited about it cause the post office decided not to update the tracking after it got to NYC and I was afraid she was gonna be stuck there for two weeks like my last batch of figures.  Luckily she made it safe and sound to my doorstep and turned out to be way cuter than I was anticipating!  If you're into figure collecting at all or want to get started I'd definitely suggest picking her up!

In actual news, with Animazement coming up in a month's time and Metrocon shortly after we're going to be super busy getting ready for them between now and then.  I've been sequestered to the Tofu Mines, which is filled with long days of grueling works and cute faces.  I might try to take a picture of all these Pokemon Tofus with just their faces on soon cause they really look way too funny without their ears and details X3  For now here's a shot of a bunch of the new mustache Tofus looking super proper on my crafting desk!

Tofu Hair Clips!

Made some new Tofu hair clips and they turned out looking SUPER CUTE!  I've been thinking of a way to make a Tofu that sits on your head for a while but I got stuck trying to figure out how to do it with a headband (which was just way more trouble than it was worth).  Luckily it finally clicked that I could use a hair clip attached to their butts to make it work!  I'm really excited to make more of these for Khaoticon in April but I will have a few available at Knightrokon tomorrow~

I'm getting down to the final two plushies I have made with this pattern!  I'm looking to revise it soon or do something a bit different from the full sized plushies so she is the last of her kind and the only Pinkie I made with the actual felt eyes.  With that note my Pinkie Permie Pie plush is now on ebay along with a Pinkie Pie Tofu hanger!  This is also the last batch of MLP Tofu hangers I'm going to make unless someone requests one as I'm moving to a new design for them!

WiP: Derpy and Dash

I feel bad not updating the blog frequently so Imma post some work in progress shots of the new MLP Tofus!  Derpy is almost done just have to do the face and cutie mark and Dash is still in progress of figuring out the pattern. Rainbow hair is a pain though I do like how her tail turned out.

I'm slowly working on the mane six and hope to have most of them done for the next couple conventions coming up!  Now back to working on Dash and waiting for my new figures to get here, they're taking forever to arrive.

New Pokemon Tofus!

Last month I made a new type of Tofu that I'm currently calling "standie."  I really loved how they turned out so I sketched up a couple new designs and made a few!  I'm hoping to convert some of the older Tofus to this style (Kyubey and MLP) and make some new designs for the upcoming convention season this summer so keep an eye out!  For now here are the new ones!

Happy New Year, hope 2012 is starting off great for everyone!  As the winter holidays have ground to a halt I'm trying to get rid of a lingering case of the lazies!  Swampcon  is this Saturday (if you live near the Gainesville, FL area you should check it out as it's completely free to attend) so myself an Amanda are keeping ourselves super busy trying to get everything done for it!  I'm hoping to have a couple new and updated things to try out at the convention so hopefully I'll get everything done in time!

We really love photos of our happy customers here at The Tofustache and I just got in some new ones today!  Katlin ordered a Pinkie Pie Tofu hanger the other day and left some kind words and cute pictures for us!

Upgraded MLP plushies!

I'm a huge fan of doll eyes on plushies but after posting a some of my MLP:FiM plushies a couple people suggested I try to make some more show accurate eyes for them, so I did!  I only have pictures of Rainbow Dash and Rarity right now but I'll probably make some more in the coming weeks (between the holidays and getting ready for Holiday Matsuri I'm a bit swamped)!

Much like the Tofus the eyes are constructed out of layers of felt.  Had a lot of fun trying to figure out how to make them and I totally love how they turned out!   It was actually pretty funny when I was trying to make them as I started making the eyes like Rainbow Dash has first but I was testing them on Rarity.  They didn't look quite right until I popped them on Dashy!   I realized at that point they were looking weird cause Rarity needed those sultry eyes!

If anyone is interested in buying them I got em up on ebay at the moment!  I may sell them at a set price later down the road on etsy but for now I'm doing one complete round of each pony on ebay with matching Tofus to try and fund a new sewing machine and camera!  Feel free to check em out!

Someone mentioned something I never thought of on my tumblr the other day... the Tofu hangers are perfect as Christmas ornaments!  So I snapped a picture of the MLP Tofus on my cute Christmas tree, and I'd have to say they do look pretty good as ornaments!

There's nothing better than photos of happy customers with your merchandise (it's also an excuse for me to take photos of merchandise I forgot to photograph before a show ^_~)!  So here's two photos I took over the weekend at EXPcon of some happy customers!

Camera broke!

I was going to take some photos of the new pony plushies I made but apparently my camera is broken!  First the sewing machine now my camera (don't even want to think about my wipers dying in the rainstorm last week)! What will be next!?

Guess I will go back to preparing more Tofus for EXPcon!

She's not quite the final final draft, but she was looking so cute I decided to finish her up!  Hopefully I'll be able to get some done of all the ponies before Expcon (excpet maybe Rarity, I'm still thinking super hard about how to do her hair with yarn)!  

Also on the Tofutastic front, I've just finished up some Doctor Who themed earrings that will be sold at the next con and etsy as soon as I get it set all up.
